Web24 mei 2024 · I have 2 drakes and 4 hens (Mallard ducks), who all live in a wild (not enclosed) pond. One of the hens has a nest and sits on eggs all day for the last three weeks, so I imagine chicks are due soon. The father is very attentive. The other drake violently attacks the nesting hen whenever she leaves her nest. Web7 nov. 2024 · Normal behavior, like how male dogs will mount one another (or anything really...). No worries! But your drake to hen ratio may need some adjusting if they start to get frisky, I think it’s a suggested 2-3 hens per drake. We would get more hens but they’re too loud. Nov 6, 2024.

I've seen many people not take advice and then complain that a drake has killed their female ducks and hens. If you want to keep a lone drake it needs to have its own pen to keep your other birds safe.
