High rpm cold start
WebFeb 11, 2010 · The RPM's on start up will go from 1400 to almost 2000 RPM's for about 10 to 20 seconds. Once it's hit that 20 second mark the RPM's will start to come down and settle at 1400 RPM until the engine starts to warm up and as the engine starts to warm up the RPM'S start to drop. Is this normal for cold start ups.
