I am on the ASE2 firmware and since this TWRP boots it up fine, I am assuming it is the same kernel version as used in the stock version since its source code was released recently. Both of the above cards show EFI boot screens on my cMP 4,1>5,1. The HD 7970 uses basically the same ROM as the R9 280X.
