WebAug 9, 2008 · Rebar is pretty hard on sawzall blades, even ones for metal. They'll do it, but they don't last very long. That's the last way I'd cut it. The suggestion of a metal cutting blade on a circular saw or angle grinder is the way to go. I'll second that - at $4/blade, and the blades are pretty much toast after one cut, that will get expensive. WebJul 11, 2016 · Whether it is rebar, nails, or any kind of metal I use an angle grinder with your discount blades (the $5 10-pack from HF). You can level something like that in 15-20 seconds and dirt doesn't matter (I might choose my $20 angle grinder if dirt was in the way). Wear glasses if you value your eyes but it is a quick job.
